My most recent experience includes a feature film and several short films including 2 of Afcoop’s film 5 as either boom operator, recordist or post sound mixer/designer. I took NSCC’s recording arts program in September of 2010 where I was given the opportunity to do sound for screen arts students including 8 short films where I acted as as boom operator, recordist, and sound designer including some original music. I continue to pursue location and post audio opportunities with local producers/directors which allows me to expand on my skills and develop an ear for some of the finer details that a location sound person should be aware of. I’ve become confident in my understanding of set
procedures through my previous production experience which has now been reinforced by the IATSE Set Etiquette course.
I’ve gained a lot of confidence in my creative and practical use of Pro Tools during the post production process and through recording sessions I’ve been involved in as an engineer and musician. Finding my way to audio engineering through music has enhanced the creativity in my approach to projects and I continue my progress in this direction as I pursue new projects.
